Gift-filled shoeboxes for children in need around the world will be collected at Mana Christian Ohana in Waimea and Solid Rock North church in Hawi Nov. 13-20.
Kamuela residents will fill empty shoeboxes with school supplies, hygiene items and toys. Operation Christmas Child will deliver them to children affected by war, disease, disaster, poverty and famine around the world.
This year, the West Hawaii Area Team aims to contribute more than 4,249 shoebox gifts to help reach the 2017 global goal of 12 million children.
